Formed in New York City in 2001 as part of di.vi.sion, the di.vi.sion piano trio is now in its eleventh season. The personnel comprises Kurt Briggs, Violin; Matt Goeke, Cello; and Renée Cometa Briggs, Piano. Its repertoire ranges from Haydn and De Fesch to Shostakovich and Ravel. The trio has also commissioned new works that incorporate the compositional technique of division, including Constance Cooper’s Play Within a Play; and Douglas Anderson’s Chamber Symphony No. 4 which was premiered in its tenth anniversary season.
This season will feature Haydn: Piano Trio in A, Hob. XV:18; Haydn: Piano Trio in G, Hob. XV:25; Frank Bridge: Phantasie Trio in c minor; Alan Bush: Three Concert Studies, Op. 31; Hilary Tann: Nothing Forgotten; and Douglas Anderson: Chamber Symphony No. 4.
